Forums - Gaming - There is no more RRoD people...try to understand.

what about the elite....as far as im aware it has the RROD just as previous 360s ,
just google ,youtube RROD ! its a major problem till this day ! and thats why sale for 360 r shrinking , its unreliable , and ppl r realizing this , either from 1st hand exp (as myself) or the infamous reputation the 360 has gained
the 360 will fade sooner then ppl think .
but godbless it for the times it gave me

I've said it before (in this thread I think)... but I'll say it again. RROD is a market perception now. It doesn't matter if its really fixed or not, or whether the general public thinks its one specific error or understands its just a signal for multiple potential errors... what matters is whether general perception of the console changes... and it hasn't. Your need to post this very thread illustrates that.

The 360 got itself tagged as unreliable. And that general opinion persists today and I think is unlikely to shift for at least another 12 months unless MS put serious effort into changing market perception.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

OMG my xbox 360 friend who recently got the console must be a LIIER!

You know, MS should just change the lights colour and this RROD problem will never happen again. Them lights shouldn't cost 1B.

So there is no more RRoD? So when i hear a report of a case of RRoD its a lie?

Is this what you are saying?

I`m saying that a Falcon will not RRoD,and the new Jasper will...again...not RRoD.

That`s what i`m saying. I also said to get one this Xmass, but you have read what you wanted to.

And Colonelstubbs... I know you love your PS3...how i know is not important. You know that you ps3 blueray can give up on you, don`t you? There are plenty of complains on forums and youtube. So when i hear a report of a case of ps3 failure its a lie?

See? the blade cuts both ways. But keep your strong Microsoft hate in the Sony forums, please. Thank you.

ummm....did you seriously just compare the fail rate of the ps3 to the 360.....lol

100% of my friends that tried to made get a 360 got rrod at least once.

and at least half after getting a "new" directly from m$, lastest was a month ago.

one managed to get his working so he says by letting it overheat with papel towel <<-- no idea if thats true

no i don't think it gone.

And i don`t think the consoles that MS is sending you back are going to last if they don`t have the 2`nd heatsink or are falcons, but that`s my opinion only.

I think this rrod problem is easy to understand.

Hey, aren't you the original poster that tryed and convince everyone that MS fixed the RROD issue and would never allow anymore corrupted units to hit the market? You changed your opinion in after just a few pages or are you on damage control or simply lying trough your teeth. I think the latter.

Ok - Heres some data points for ya'll.

If the PS3 has less than a 5% actually failure rate beat me over the head with my dead PS3 and call me a bad man!

Destop PCs experience about a 5% failure rate and they are simper designs built with both higher tolerances and older more robust technologies. 5" drives vs 3" drives and simpler optical technology vs Blu Ray.

Quote

"PCs are more reliable than they used to be, market watcher Gartner has claimed. Desktops and notebooks bought in the period 2003-2004 were more likely to experience hardware failures than those purchased in 2005 and 2006, the researcher said this week.

Gartner records a hardware failure as any incident that requires a component to be replaced. Unsurprisingly, vendors like to keep the numbers private, but Gartner said it gleaned enough data from third-parties and its clients to put a number to failure rates.

First, desktops. Systems bought in 2003 and 2004 had a seven per cent likelihood of failure in the first year, rising to 15 per cent by the fourth year of usage. The year-one failure rate fell to five per cent for systems bought in 2005 and 2006, Gartner said. It's projecting a year-four failure rate of 12 per cent for these machines."

So I would need to see data which explicitly proves that the PS3 can exceed the reliability of a desktop PC when its a far more complicated design.

So for now 5% is what im gonna stick to.

PS3s failure rate is less than 1% while desktop PCs fail around 24%. Wiis failure rate is also below 1%. As long as 360 is made by MS, the high failure rate will remain. Since when did MS make a product that was stable?

Falcon overheating? you know what`s inside of a 360? It has a cooler on the GPU ,it can not overheat. Mine is not overheating, and it`s from october 2007. And only one source? how can i know it`s not a fanboy trying to say something bad about the Falcon? I can`t. You can`t.

If it makes you feel any better, the Jasper model will be safe. My Falcon is very cool,so i`m pleased about it.

And the Elite/Pro/Arcade are all the same internaly. Trust me,like i said,i know what`s inside,fanboys don`t.

With this simple sentence, you lost all credibitlity.

Really? Tell me then, how come? I like to know.

The fact that a passive cooler on the GPU takes the heat away and puts it in the zone where the fans move the air out of the console bothers you? I am sorry then.

I hope I wouldn't have to explain, I expected too much of you.

First, saying "I know what's inside, those who disagree with me don't" is just arrogant.

Then, you say "They put a cooler on the GPU, it won't overheat anymore". You're right, the GPU will less overheat with a cooler. But on the other hand, I've seen countless CPUs and GPUs, with a cooler and a fan on top, overheat. So, such a bold statement as "it won't overheat anymore" is only proving that you don't know what you're talking about.

I'm sure the new design will solve problems, GPU and CPU reduced size, more coolers will for sure improve things.
I only disagree with your statement that there will not be RRoD anymore, and with the way you're saying it.

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

Hmmm, I saw a guy come into a game shop with his 360 yesterday and he had RROD. Had the 360 for over a year. It still happens. MS will see more and more 360 RROD for its life time until most 360's are the latest ones - which supposedly don't RROD.
