Forums - Microsoft - Why Are Accessories A Problem For Microsoft?

the extras are over priced, but the wifi adaptor's dont interest me, so i dont care about that. i just wish the 120hdd was around $100, so more ppl could get it alot easier and also introduce a 200-300 gig hdd for around $200, since the option to download games is coming the extra space would be most welcome.

BMaker the headset is only $15. And in fact you can use any headset that will fit in the jack.

You're right.....I coulda swore I saw somewhere that the proprietary headset was more expensive though...my mistake

They do have that wireless one that is like $60 I think.

Xbox 360 proprietary accessories are way overpriced and that's a fact, another way for MS to make easy money at the expense of its customers.

Yeah, what's next? they gonna charge us 50$ for rumble?...

Greedy corporations are greedy, news at eleven.

Yeah, not making users spend 100 bucks on a Wireless dongle is probably the way to go.

In Canada, about a year and a half ago, the wireless adapter was 130$ (without tax).
I needed it badly.

EDIT: ^ The price of a DS (which, in fact, includes Wifi)

Yeah, it's a shame you can find wifi for less than half of what MS asks, but there's no way out of shelling it to sony for rumble =(

^Technically if you didn't have a second controller before and needed one you only spend 5-10 dollars extra for rumble.

And if you have an ethernet port nearby, you don't even need to pay for a wifi dongle.

Your point being?

^That's why most people don't buy the adapters. No one said you had to buy either one. I was just pointing out a flaw in your logic.

They absolutely gouge consumers on proprietary peripherals.  The arguments people want to make about "evil" Sony apply truthfully to Microsoft.

MS pricing schemes do make better use of consumers' psychology, though.  Sucker them in with a lower initial price, then add on tons of costs when people figure "well, I'm already in this for $349..."  Not cheaper than PS3 now, is it?
