I loved my GC, but comparing the PS3 to the GC is just stupid! The GC's SW was very weak appart from 1st parties. The PS3's 3rd party line up on the other hand is very strong. The GC's life was short, but the PS3's will double it. The PS3 is not dieing like the GC constantly was

^The PS3 made a come back late last year, the GC never did. The PS3 already has half the total SW of the GC and it's not even 2 years old yet! Unfortunatly the GC was doomed from the begining.

I wonder if this atma boy is aware that the Wii secretly really is the GC, but with a different shell and controller? hahahahahaha!

Nice thread MM2! It is going to be a BIG year for the PS3 next year that's definite. Just look at what 1 big game can do like MGS4 to the PS3, and next year there is a shit load more of these kinder games.

We have all yet to see the PS3 this strong and I cannot wait till games like LBP, R2 Kz2, Infamous and White Knight Chronicals all hit in the comming 6 months. Then there is Bioshock, Mirror's Edge [PS3 is the lead platform] and Dark Space [PS3 is lead too], Gonna be huge!

I was thinking too, that maybe the secret Rockstar game that is comming exclusively to the PS3 could be a new GTA game in the vain of Vice City.

Think about it, Rockstar's timing for a new GTA game would be perfect. They are already doing 2 new IP's with La Noir and the new western game too that's comming, why would they do another new game? When would they start development for another GTA game if this secret game is not a GTA game? Could they be working on 4 massive games at once?- I really don't think they would.

Also, it could be what I have always said they should do, an open ended world GTA game. Hop on a plane and do different cities and countries kinder thing. Imagin fighting the Yakuza in Tokyo, then hop on a plane and battle the streets of London.

All speculation, yes, but I really feel it is a GTA game fit for the PS3 and a BD. Time will tell tho, but imagin the HW push if it was!

these kind of games are only possible on the ps3!!!

 

I look forward to these games, but I dunno I honestly expected more out of my ps3.

Lol you're so funny... You can find so many excuses for the bad performance of your PS3 like the life cycle or the part of 3rd party games. But there's just one thing which really matters here in VGchartz : The numbers! And those numbers show that the PS3 is pretty close to the GC situation (around 20% of market share) and that it won't beat the Wii this gen. PS3 is fighting for a second place like GC last gen and that's all. Now why don't you admit it like MS did this week instead of acting like the owner of this forum or site?

sure sony lost ground in the consol market. they lost compared to previous generation.

But imo ps3 will win against its direct competitor X360, which is currently more important than becoming market leader. i have no doubt about it.

about GC= PS3 -> i compared Hw from launch of PS3, X360 and GC, to me it seems like x360 is closer to Gc figures than PS3...

just curious: do you know by what percentage the xbox ended up lat gen? probably x360 is doing better, if so ,all three parties have things to cheer about...
