2nd Party

Cellius = Brave Arms, Second Season 01, Chain Lim!t
Eat Sleep Play = Three exclusive titles for PS3, one is possiblyTwisted Metal
Game Republic = Genji
Idol Minds = Pain: Amusement Park expansion pack
Insomniac Games = Resistance 2, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
Media Molecule = Little Big Planet
Sucker Punch = Infamous
Slant Six Games = SOCOM: Confrontation
thatgamecompany = Flower, new exclusive TBA
Dark Star = Fat Princess
Q*Entertainment = PixelJunk Eden

Nice list, but three corrections:

Cellius may not even exist.

Eat Sleep Play is working on the Twisted Metal for the ps3.  It was confirmed in Twisted Metal: Head On for the PSP.  Also, I think they'll stick around permanently, like Insomniac.

Game Republic aren't really second party.  They've worked on 360 games in the past.

i think cellius may be JP exclusive

and POM has Game Republic listed as second party...maybe they signed to make a few exclusive titles ?

Also Ready at Dawn is Second Party but they are PSP exclusive i believe

SCE Bend devs of Resistance Retribution (PSP)

i think your first post needs to be a little more organized now that you have all the studios and whars the II III IIII mean?

It's between Team Ico and insomniac. I'll just go with team Ico for now.

Best 1st Party: Team ICO, Naughty Dog, and Zipper.
Best 2nd Party: Insomniac and Sucker Punch.

If I had to vote for my two favs... Naughty Dog (1st party) and Sucker Punch (2nd party).  Although Team ICO and Zipper take the cake as far as technical prowess goes, IMO.

insomniac

Level 5 isn't 2nd party. They just have some 2nd party games for Sony (Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, WKS). They're third party. That's why they made Inazuma Eleven (for the DS, and they're also making a console one, no doubt it'll be for the Wii), Professor Layton (they're making another one right now IIRC, of course for the DS), and are making DQ IX for the DS.

...2nd party means Sony is their publisher exclusively, but Sony doesn't technically own them.  That's it.  Level 5 is effectively a 2nd party developer for Sony.  Factor 5, as an example, isn't, because they've done exclusives for both Sony and Nintendo.  I don't believe Level 5 has ever made an exclusive for anyone but Sony.

edit: ...oh yeah, I forgot about that "Professor Layton" DS game.

Polyphony, Insomniac, Clap Hanz

I've never really gotten a chance to play most of the other games these companies have made. I've rented a couple of the Twisted Metal games, and the first sly game and they were good games, just too many great games to be able to play them all.

love each of them.

i find them more fresh than nintendo own first parties.
