Can anyone figure out why the term "Halo Killer" is bandied about so much?

Why don't people talk about "Gran Turismo Killer" or "Mario Killer" or "Wii Sports Killer?" Why is it always Halo?

The "Killer" term comes from the mid-90s on BBS systems where people discussed whether there would ever be a game that would be popular enough to come along and be a more popular multiplayer game than Quake and to (therefore) kill Quake ... It is still used in the PC world quite regularly (people talk about World of Warcraft Killers all the time) but it is rarely used in the console world appropriately; realistically, there will never be a game released which is popular enough to kill a game on another console.
