Nope, no one ever said haze would be a halo killer, or that Lair was going to end the wii's dominance, or that Heavenly Sword would begin Sony's return to the throne, or ect ect ect. Just about any high profile game is touted as one if not all of the above. trying to produce evidence that anyone said any of those things would be hard, but it doesn't change the internet's attitude at the time. |

Fine i'll do the dirty. Obviously you can't do your own googling.

Now I hate to be the guy that steps in the shoe prints that says “Another Halo Killer”, but I’m darn sure that Haze could be it, especially after you watch the following footage. I’m not advocating that Ubisoft or Free Radical have an awesome, instant "must buy" game on their hands, but I can attest to the fact that Haze looks much better on paper than Halo 3. But enough prattle. You can check out the developer diary footage below. Enjoy.

Kidding aside, Haze is Sony's potential Halo-killer for the 2007 holiday season. It's a release which could both satisfy current PS3 owners and draw in new ones who might otherwise have snatched up an Xbox 360. The game sports (seemingly) better graphics than the Microsoft release, it has some innovative new FPS mechanics (realized in the form of Nectar) and features a narrative with its own richly developed and even somewhat topical back story. Add to that two- and four-player co-op as well as 24-player competitive online play (eight more than Halo 3's 16 max) and you've got everything it takes to be a not-Halo on another platform.

Deemed “child’s play” by the developers of Haze back in May of ’07, another contender had risen from the ashes to become the next…well…first, Halo Killer.
Some thought this immature of Free Radical, as developers ripping into games that are not their own can definitely be perceived as child’s play.
The following set of quotes are from Haze Scriptwriter Rob Yescombe:
"While Halo is brilliant, you’re a teenager - the next-gen is about becoming more mature, in Haze you become an adult."

I’ve Played GT5P, Call Of Duty, BioShock, Halo 3, RFOM, Gears Of War, GRAW 1/2, RSV. And Haze looks much better than any of them and the story line looks bad to the multi-billion dollar lazy reviewers b/c. A. there not giving the game a PAID rating, or B. they don’t want to give good rating to a game that was designed by a low budget game company compared to a game paid by Microsoft and Hyped even more by MS-dollars.
Note: The last is especially funny because it's after the game got reviewed.
This all came from HappySquirrel's link. LOL MATURE, let me know if you want more articles on Haze: The Halo Killer.
This last one is just a bonus because it comes from VGChartz. I'm going to link this thread, but I'm warning everyone that if someone necros the thread itself to the front page, it's a ban.
Top 10 most wanted games on PS3
Members were asked to vote on their most anticipated PS3 releases. Haze came in 7th. It beat out The Orange Box, Assassin's Creed, Warhawk, White Knight Story, Guitar Hero III, and Socom Confrontation. This is off-topic but Lair came in #3 above Little Big Planet and Ratcher and Clank Future.
