Huh.

It's painted white... like the wiimote.

It has a d-pad up at the top... like the wiimote.

It has a matching white wrist strap... like the wiimote.

It has 4 lights presumably to show battery life... like the wiimote.

Who's copying who I wonder. ^_~

Well, copying Nintendo has done wonders for other companies, look at how well it has done for Sony.....

I'm sure Nintendo was working on WM+ long before rumours of Darwin popped up. For one Nintendo is very familiar with the competition stealing their ideas (at least the good ones) and would have expected imitation by now.

However, I am fairly certain Nintendo showing off WM+ and especially releasing a press release on it hours prior to MS's showing at E3 was directly related to Darwin rumours.

man its getting pretty deep in here...excuse me i need to put on m hip waiters to keep out all of this BS

I would say that the 4 lights are to show which player you are, 1 through 4, just like the 360 controllers.

There's more to life than Nintendo you guys. Who cares who thought up what first? All this debate of this company is copying this company is stupid!

If someone has a good idea that people like and are buying, do you expect everyone to say, "Oh that's there thing. I'm glad they're successful"? No, you'd expect them to say, "Hey, they're successful. Maybe we can find a way to have a piece of that success. Maybe I can improve upon it."

It makes absolutely no sense for a company to stand by and watch. This is the case in TV, movies, automobiles, comics. You name it, you'll see one company copying another. And in the end, the general consumer DOES NOT CARE! They just care if the feature or the like is there. Most times, the company making it is not a factor.

In other, Nintendo had a great idea that worked. Why is there all the hate on every other company who tries to do the same thing?

yea but words of wisdom was wrong as well.  On the Wiimote the four lights are to show which player you are as well.  It doesn't mean battery life.

those 4 lights on the wiimote are to show you what player you are too actually.  to see battery life hit the menu button and the battery life will be shown in on screen.

^actual they do both , as the lights fade you are losing battery life

I could believe that Wii Motion Plus was created to completely demolish any chance of a "Darwin" ever happening, or succeeding upon release.

However, the Wii Motion Plus was probably in development before there was any chance of the Wii being in first place, making no need to be threatened by the Wiimote. I think the "Darwin" was made as a response to the Wiimote. But, Wii Motion Plus isn't a response to the Darwin.
