Forums - Sony - The bottleneck Sony is in might be REALLY good for gamers....

Now that Sony is relying on their software sales almost entirely to gain profit in their gaming division, they're going to be pressured to work on their games even more.  At least, that's what I believe.

What does the rest of vgchartz think about this?

or they are gonna release half finished games and cancel big projects like the getaway and 8 days to fund a video pet game to make money.....

Thats what i see... if you re in a jam you dont spend more money on devs to make games u do what u can for the games to be cheaper for your company and hope it sells high.

But either why with killzone, R2, Motorstorm and socom i guess my theory is not gonna happen because sonys games are awesome.

It's getting really old how many people are bunching their panties up over Eight Days..the game was more than likely going to be horrible anyway. You have enough games that are almost identical to it.

QUIT CRYING. If that's all you're going to do, sell your PS3 and buy an XBOX 360. I'd rather play with gamers when I get on PSN, not whiners.

As opposed to...?

Sony has always depended more on software than hardware for profit.

Holy spin, actually WoW is being true to the name.

Yeah this is no different than MS who does the same thing. They finally started making money on there console this year

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Xbox live:mywiferocks

nin has been in that boat since the launch of the wi, and it hasn't led to stellar games in general so why would this be different

Companies being under increased pressure to make more money from something has generally been seen as a cause of sloppiness, and rushed products.

Not saying this is absolutely going to happen with Sony, in fact I'm surprised to have seen no sign of this, but OP's logic is very faulty.

They were able to make profit off of their harware last gen though.  They're having to break even now on it, so it's possible that Sony is really going to up the ante on their software division; more so than the last two previous gens.

Which in turn is good for us gamers.
