Keep in mind Europe isn't all of others so they've been getting boosts from places like China and other areas which are much more of a market now than they have been previously.

For years Others always got games months after America and Japan, does anyone think this will turn the tide, and Europe might get a major release before the US? And I know Others got MK wii earlier, but US got the high profile Smash earlier. |
Hell no.
European countries together has bigger economy thatn America..
I too blame the declining economy in America, also buyers trust ineconomy also correlates to the gaming industry.
Hope that America will rise, because it helps also us Europeans
Console makers need to seriously tap in Chinese market, and I am talking about PRC. :x

I think the european market will beome the dominent marke in the future when its greater population is taken into account. Certainly improves the likelihood of ps3 sales surpassing that of the 360 in the near future too. |
One problem becomes the restriction of games in European countries, which may hinder growth. There is also the large amounts of language so localization. So, it may not be as easy as it sounds.
Others should be split up in to continents at least. Is there a rule or what?
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
Good thing people will still continuously point out whos winning in Japan and America and completely ignore others still, or this would be something important. :)
I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"
"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"
"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"
I also think that thie big software and hardware companies are taking europe more seriously that before, a trend that was started by sony and microsoft and nintendo more recently have adopted. There is no doubt that the marketing nintendo has spent on europe has definitely paid off, its just a shame that the 360 is continually out sold by the ps3 month to month - when the market there is more likened to that console than the japanese one.
