Renegade Kid's Wii Game

Official publisher announced. First details here.

August 28, 2008 - It's no big secret that we're big fans of development studio Renegade Kid, whose first two DS games have really impressed us. The small company is responsible for both Dementium: The Ward and the highly anticipated science-fiction-themed first-person shooter Moon, due out for Nintendo's handheld this November. When we last spoke to studio head Jools Watsham, he said, "Our Wii game will be announced very soon." And he wasn't lying, for today we bring you first details on the project, including its publisher.

Though still without a name, Renegade Kid revealed to IGN that it has signed a deal with publisher Gamecock (which backed Dementium) to bring the mystery title out. "Based on one of the biggest horror icons of all time, the game's name, plot or what systems it will be available for have yet to be revealed," the companies jointly noted in a release given to IGN. (We can take a guess about what system(s) it'll be coming to, by the way.)

Fans expecting a Dementium or Moon-like first-person shooter could be in for a surprise. According to the companies, "The completely new title changes things up from past Renegade Kid projects in terms of gameplay, genre and style."

Renegade Kid's mystery Wii game. What is it?

"Our first venture with Gamecock, Dementium, was an ideal partnership for us," said Jools Watsham, owner and creative director of Renegade Kid. "Our new game has been a 'pet project' of ours for a while now and it not only felt natural but necessary that we team up with Gamecock again. We're really looking forward to working with these talented folks again."

"The exciting thing about working with Renegade Kid, and what we learned the first time around, is that they'll stick to their guns and put everything they have into it," said Harry Miller, El Presidente of Gamecock. "This new title is incredible, and a huge leap forward for them and the genre."

More details on the game are forthcoming, but in the meantime, Renegade Kid has left us with a tantalizing teaser image, which we've provided in this article.

Hmm interesting. From the looks of it might be another game stylized and play like No More Heroes and Madworld. Can never have enough of those.

sounds interesting, from the teaser it looks like dracula, maybe its vampire game, i hope so

Does anyone know how the sales were for Dementium: The Ward.

I always appreciate the optimism you bring to threads.

OT: Awesome teaser art.  Moon + bats problably means vampires, which isn't bad, but I'll still hope for something else.

More Wii games announced, 3rd party devs are announcing like 2 Wii games/week, of which half is shovelware but the other half is promising.

Another "mature hardcore" game, I'm loving these announcements. Factor 5 is next :P

Wait, is this a mini-game?

Edit... Ok maybe some will not catch my sarcasm, but there was too much "hope and joy" for the Wii's 3rd party future... so I had to come in and crush it... quickly.

I'm glad to see that I killed this thread.
