Epic having learned nothing from CoD4 and Halo 3, the sequel continues the GoW tradition of limiting players to a tiny area using 1 foot high concrete curbs that the characters are inexplicably unable to jump over.

Tiny area - Its done on purpose, and it's what give GeoW its charm. Everything about Gears of War is about being in your opponents face. Look at CoD4 and Halo 3, the only time you get even near your enemy is if you sneak behind them and stab them in the back.
Gears of War Multiplayer is about getting close to your enemy, face to face. Everything is close quarters - chainsaw battles, Frag tags, flamethrower, curb stomps.
Personally I love that its "in your face" action. Its something that hasn't been duplicated in any other 360 game.
And yea they can actually jump over 1 foot high concrete curbs...
