Very surprised that VGC has under tracked it by a decent bit.

 Remember the MGS4 has sold 3mil to consumers and shipped more than that to rtail statement?

Some reviewers had it in for ninja gaiden 2 from the start because of itagaki's comments about DMC ect.... some of the reviewers should be ashamed of themsleves for the low scores they gave this game............. looking back on it in reflection its a damn fine game, great hack and slash moves, 8 different weapons to choose from, obliterations and i thought some very good scenery (the raining blood for example)........ anyway, theres no doubt that ninja gaiden 2 deserves to reach 1 million, but it should have been soooooooooooooo much more

The market was overstuffed with these games, within the first month stores were knocking the price from $60 to 30-40 dollars. I doubt this game will see much more sales.

Even if it doesnt, it is already way above a lot of peoples expectations for a hardcore game that got lower reviews than NG:Sigma and selling to a much lower Japanese installed base.

Most probably shipped. Anyways this means the game has been profitable.

Like what games have oversaturated this market?

This year we have had Devil may cry 4, no more heroes, ninja gaiden 2...and now star wars unleashed. Maybe Dynasty warriors -whatever numebr if you want to count that.

There were weeks where more than 4 FPS games hit the market, and we are talking 4 over the entire year. So the issue is that the market is owercrowded with action hack and slash games.

Devil May Cry 4 sold really well beause its more approachable than NG series. Being an xbox exclusive last gen, not a lot of people have had the chance to play it. And from what most people tell me that didn't play it...the general opinion of this game is "I heard its really hard...I don't like hard".

So that is the problem with NG2 sales...people seem scared to try it. Otherwise 1 mil is not a bad sales figure at all...

I only really have 2 problems with Ninja Gaiden II.

1. The 5-score achievements for clearing the entire game with one weapon... That's just crazy :p

2. Considering how often you die, it takes too long to go from actually dying, to the game over screen, to get to continue. That's a problem I have with most games though, because that's probably my biggest annoyance when it comes to video games... Particularly if they are games where you die alot.

Considering both of those complaints are fairly miniscule, I suppose most of you can tell that I really love the game ;) Even though it's a bit too punishing at times.
