If they have not increased the texture details BluRay will not make a difference that is correct.

The 360 version was there before, the 360 version fits on a DVD, the PS3 version uses the same textures --> BluRay will not be an advantage.

Texture detail has nothing to do with size of bluray. Video RAM can hold 256 megs of texture detail on a ps3 and about the same on the 360. Unless you want much more frequent load time on the ps3...

You fail to understand the concept streaming. One of the better features of BR is that is can access the disk at any moment even with the game running and as its a single track it can load whatever new texture info required.

I do understand the concept of streaming. PS3's bluray doesn't have nearly fast enough streaming speeds to show texture detail significantly higher than 360 games. Infact its much slower due to the slower (but constant) read speed of bluray...hence why most textures are loaded on the hard drive with installs.

I present to you Uncharted, which still has the best texture resolution of any ps3 title to date, as well as no loading and no installs.  R&C also has really nice textures with almost no loading and a tiny install (just a ~hundred megabyte cache), and I expect Killzone 2 and other SCEA/SCEE titles to follow suit.

Blu-Ray's advantages don't have to show themselves through resolution alone.

Microsoft probably negotiated a deal where the PS3 can only be marginally better (including the DLC)

I wouldnt put it past them

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

who cares? as long as it's not half-assed, I'm buying the game.

'Blu-ray hasn't made much difference' ... ahahahahahhahaha... I gues Sony lied to you about the GAMES and used Blue Ray to win the MOVIE format war... everything comes at a price, that`s why ps3 is double the price in Europe and soon in USA.

You need games designed first with Blu Ray in mind in order for it to take advantage of the extra space. As a result, they will most likely be only exclusives. I really doubt a 3rd party port of a 360 game will do it.

Some people just seem to think that no matter the game, if it is on blu ray it is going to be better then if it appeared on DVD

Even despite this when the game hits the market there will still be those saying it is better (even if it is the same game) b/c its is on the blu and not a standard DVD

Oh, funny, because I think what most of us thought you meant by "the only people that seem to think blu = upgrade are those that are clinging to it for every thing...also know as fanboys" was that Blu-Ray CANNOT afford an advantage, and those who think otherwise are fanboys.  Which seems the most likely interpretation.

Good to see you've backed down considerably.

The devs have said, and IGN and others have commented, that Bioshock PS3's visuals are definitely improved over the 360 version.  So there will be some saying it is better when it hits the market.  I bet those are just fanboys, though.

except that they havent, in fact they say the game is the same

Graphical quality our goal was always to make sure everything looked just as good as on Xbox 360. So there was never anybody who could say, hey, why didn't I get this on 360 originally, because I don't feel like it's up to the visual quality. We're just trying to make sure that everybody is happy.

also i havnt backed down i still stand by what i said, people are expecting way to much from blu ray  for games that are going to direct ports.....a change of medium for a direct port, a super upgrade does not make

Seriously, its not like as soon as you put code on Blu-ray it magically becomes better. I loled when I saw this on N4G

thats my point exactly

however if a game was made ground up for it then yeah, you can get more out of it b/c you have more room to work with

this is like saying you put Usain Bolt's track shoes on but they didnt make you faster...
