Forums - Nintendo - Gamespot reviews Mario Super Sluggers. 6.5

Very fairly said, ameterasu. I don't agree that the expanded audience games sell on brand recognition (who had ever heard of Carnival Games?) or based on marketing (I saw a lot more commercials for Boom Blox than, say, Mario Party) but we can agree to disagree cordially on that.

Yes youre absolutely right all those sites wanted to give it a lower score, maybe the score the game deserved and thats in the 6.s range, but the fact that this is a nintendo game automatically gives it an extra point ot 2

Will you guys stop being so fanboyish to admit that this is an average game ,a game that seems to be (from the reviews )worst then the gamecube version that was released years ago ,and as i see gaming reviews, average games get average scores not 7,s or 8,s like most first party average games tend to score, and this is in general not only for nintendo but also for sony and microsoft but for these 2 in a little less degree

There is no problem in liking games that score is the 6,s i have Viking batlle for asgard and that game got a 3 !!!!! from 1up and apart from some minor flaws the game is great but was trashed by critics not just 1up something that killed the game sales wise if mario super sluguers is an underated game what can i say about Viking

Nintendo fans need to wake up to the fact that all nintendo games get inflated scores and thats a proven fact i own several nintendo games and love most of them but i can see there real value not let miself get clouded by fanboyism

R3 -- You are right that it is OK to like games with low scores.

However, if you have been reading this thread, you can see that the problem is that to some reviwers, Nintendo is a detrement rather than a benefit.

Also, there is a lot of bias in reviews toward what the reviewer likes or what the reviewer thinks the readers likes.

But basically, you need to use reviews as a guide and cannot trust them alone because what you like may not be what they like.

That,s the only part of your post that i dont agree, and as i said in my other postthis game  his having 7,s or 8,s mainly because its a nintendo first party title theres no going around it if this was a game with another franshise name and a fiferent publisher the scores would be much lower.

Again the main problem seems to be that they made a worst game then the gamecube version and that was released years ago

Sounds too average for a Mario game.
