I respect Malstrom but don't care for some of the way he blogs. He does do his research and most of his points are well thought-out, I'll give him that. With that said, I find it comical that people think JL is Maelstrom.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/
| Sky Render said: And no, I'm not Maelstrom either. He inspired me to look into Blue Ocean Strategy and Innovator's Dilemma, and we both have a knack for writing things that incite and entertain in equal measure, but that's where our similarities end. |
No one said you were Malstrom. This pre-emptive denial sounds...suspicious.
And we already know you're a liar, Mr. "My face is not an interactive entertainment medium"...
Well, if I am Maelstrom, then I have to wonder when I find the time, to be honest. Or why I responded to 2 e-mails from myself and corrected myself in both of them. Or how I was entirely unaware of my own existence as an internet writer for about a year and a half before Maelstrom's articles started being written.
It is a mystery, but surely the answer couldn't be as simple as "like minds think alike". No, that'd be far too easy, and we all know that the simplest answer is never right! ...Oh wait, that's not how Occam's Razor goes. Well there goes that theory.

Duh, dude, we've all seen Fight Club by now.
If you're going to come up with counter-arguments, at least make them plausible!
There are companies, many companies, that fail to stay at the top of their industries. Many of them fail when certain types of changes in the market and changes in technology appear that have unpredictable results. Here I'm not talking about the failure of just any company but the failure of good, or even great, companies; the kind of good companies that the business world admires and tries to emulate. These are the kind of companies that have excellent execution and have implemented successful business strategies that have brought out innovative and useful products that have been well received by customers.
How is it that well-managed companies, ones that are extremely competitive, listen to their core-customers and invest heavily in new technologies, fail? Why does a company that seems to do everything correctly, follows a sound business plan and is well managed begin a downward decline and fail in spite of following what the business world generally holds to be best practices? It can be summed up in one word that Iwata has been repeating over and over, "DISRUPTION". *
* - Loosely paraplagezed from "The Innovator's Dilemma" by Clayton M. Christensen. I blame Wii Fit.

Are you implying, Mr. NoName, that I am the gaming article equivalent of Tyler Durden? That I wake up each night after only one hour of sleep, live a totally different life as an internet blogger for 6 or 7 hours, then go back to bed and wake up as myself again? I think I would've started exerting some serious problems from lack of sleep if that were the case. Though it would be funny, in a "cutting years of life off to inform the gaming world about disruption" kind of way.
Though I have been wondering where that Sky Render Brand Face Molding Kit in the corner came from...
Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

who the hell is that loony, some sort of spy, i have never heard of him.
I think you must've sent it to an imaginary address, Rol. Either that, or you've mistaken me for somebody else. Which I suppose is entirely possible, given the direction this thread has comically taken. I can't think of a witty way to end this message, so walnut baby seal pastry with raspberry guinea pig frosting.
