In the end, The Last Guy is an outstanding title that's challenging, funny, and fresh. Yes, it's a download and it's rather simple looking, but once you get your hands on the controls and get to the point where you've tanked for the fifth time in a row and are plotting a path on the map overview before your next deployment, you'll know why this game rocks. Plain and simple, The Last Guy deserves to have a place on your hard drive.

9.0 Presentation
The first time you play, a voice over TV color bars tells you about the downfall of society. The mission screen has all the vital info for you to see at a glance. You can jump into levels.
7.5 Graphics
This is a simple game, but the city maps look great, and the way the crowd goes from following to freaking out is nice. The zombies and the last guy aren't the most detailed, but they look good.
8.5 Sound
There is only a handful of tracks in the game, but they never get old. The in-game song is catchy; the 8-bit effects are fun; and even when I died for the tenth time, the death music cracked me up.
9.0 Gameplay
Getting people from Point A to Point B is a simple concept, but The Last Guy uses level layouts, zombies, and strategy to make it something much, much more.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
I've beaten the game, and I can't wait to download it on Thursday and go after every VIP, every secret level, the leaderboards, and all 9,999,999,999 survivors I can have.

Another stellar title for the PSN. I cant wait for my ps3 to be repaired. I need to Buy this R&C QFB, Bionic Commando, Pixel Junk Eden/Monsters, and Wipeout HD whenever it is released!

Nice, Might pick this up

I played the demo....perhaps there's enough missing from the demo that I couldn't see how great the game was....but damn...I did not expect this game to get a 9 honestly.

...

No trophies no buy.

That response almost makes me wish that trophies had never been added to the ps3.

You are not going to play a possibly fun and cheap game because of trophies?

Around the Network

Played the demo, it was sorta fun.
Seriously didn't expect it to get a 9.
Good job I guess...

Those scored added then divided only equal 8.5 not the 9.0 that IGN gave it.

"Like you know"

@ Rudy
you apparently aren't familiar with IGN's "the overall is not an average" policy.

So basically, you would miss out on a great game just becasue it didnt have trophy support?  That is quite possibly the lamest thing I have ever heard.

I mean who plays games for fun anymore,  I just want senseless trophy grinding!

Bethesda's Todd Howard "if install base really mattered, we'd all make board games, because there are a lot of tables."
