"You won't find Adobe here in Nairobi"

Wii is going to be a staple as long as they keep cranking out good solid games. I think Wii games should be in the 35 and 40 dollar range though. 50 bucks is too much for Cooking Mama.
A Wii 2 in 2009 is early indeed, yet we can expect that PS3 sales won't be as good as expected, so that may force Sony to bring the PS4 out as fast as possible. Possibly aided by the fact that they'll try something Nintendo-esk: no hi-tech with some kind of innovation. So it could go faster then expected.
But i expect a Wii-Lite around that time, it worked with the DS and it could work again. (besides it is possible they'll announce a dvd-wii at e3)
Nintendo might do a more streamlined version with a harddrive if sales start to decline 3 yrs from now to boost sales up, but to be honest even that is pushing it. With the way the Wii is selling, this is in for the long haul. You won't see another difference most likely until Wii 2. Nintendo is both shocked and thrilled by the success of the Wii and they are afraid to even touch the situation for the good or bad right now. They are in watch mode and are back to their former tricks of releasing the tried and true, following the DS model, doing connectivity and online minimally, and releasing a console every 4 to 5 yrs.
I hope they'll snap out of this though and do something with the Wii Channels, SD reading, Keyboard attachments, harddrive, etc.... but for anyone who knows Nintendo, this is all wishful thinking at this point.
crazy patchers wii2 prediction might be right on the money.
Cheep short term strategy = a huge brand name with the "wii" so a sequel sooner then later makes plenty sense.
Sonys slow PS3 sales mean a PS4 is long way off, they will support the PS3 for a decade if they have to if it means making a profit off it. While Nintendo can make a Wii2 for this xmas cut all wii support and wii would have been profitable for them.
