This, I dont see there being much if any AAA survival horror games cuz IMO, RE was at the top of survival horrors and now that they went all 3rd person action-y, I don't see no other franchise filling that void. Unless Capcom decides to make another Dino Crisis

If Resident Evil went the action route...and the game features Zombies and mutating viruses...what chance does a game with dinosours have in staying horror?

Also to people who want a good (not bad) survival horror, you should check :

Haunted Ground on PS2.

ahh, u r correct sir. IDK about u, but playing RE4, it felt like if Capcom couldve (and should have) made a completely different franchise and called it something else and left the RE franchise as is. I mean, if u think about it, besides the Umbrella being in there, the game is completely different (the ganados couldve been made completely different if it wasn't an RE game).

Totally. RE4 was amazing...probably the best game that year, but it wasn't what I expected from RE. Maybe it was time for the series to move on in order to stay on top of the gaming world. However, there was a video of a demo of RE4's initial design...and that looked quite promissing while looking more like traditional RE. (puzzles, scares...etc) So I think it could have been pulled off in a traditional manner...maybe having the series go in to paranormal more.

Anyone who likes this game but doesn't like Clock Tower will be a hypocrite (not talking about you, libellule)--Haunting Ground was going to be a Clock Tower game until they decided to alter the storyline.  Different story, same 'hide-from-the-maniac' gameplay.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Wasn't a fan of haunted gorund myself. It pissed me off that the dog has more brains than the girl...

Clock Tower was a MUCH better game, and there was no dog.  If you're a horror fan, you really owe it to yourself to go to a ROM site (no linking allowed, I know) and check it out, especially since it's free.  Oh, and DEFINITELY wear headphones

I did hear good things about Clock Tower. Never tried it though

The genre's time has come and gone, I'm afraid. Silent Hill 5 looks like crap, and while Fatal Frame 4 is supposed to be spooky it's also quite clunky and buggy.

The only survival horror I can think that isn't on your list already is Cursed Mountain, and lord knows how that'll turn out to be. No, it seems we'll just have to go back to playing Silent Hill 2 for our horror fix.

Hw do you know? Its not even out yet!

OT:I say still look forward to Fatal Frame 4 and SH 5.

And isnt the new Suda and EA games supposed to be a horror games? dunno about survival horror but horror.
