Silent hill 5 maybe?

I liked Alone in the Dark. It was a fun survival horror game with glitches... I thought the control issues only added to the "survival horrorness" to it. Like..."Oh god, hes coming I got to shoot him...faak hold steady you stupid gun..."
But I didnt finish it as when I got to the last part in central park with all the roots you have to kill, game becomes a sandbox wannabie. I didn't have the patience.
I think a survival horror game is a game which is :
1. Scary with moments of dread,
2. You have to survive by any means necessary.
Resident evil 4 was an awesome game and I'm looking forward to RE5 very much. However its a game where you blast your way through it...with very few scares. Not Survival horror if all you need to survive is ammo... Halo, Gears of war, and 1000s of other games would be considered survival horror as well if RE4 was clasified as SH.
This is a little off-topic, but I have a survival-horror suggestion that many people here probably have not played. You may laugh at the very idea, but it's for the SNES. Grab Clock Tower off a ROM site, and you won't need another horror game EVER!
-Beats the pants off of Resident Evil, Fatal Frame, and Silent Hill (having played all of them) in fear factor.
-You're an orphan girl who's just been adopted into this rich family. However, there are ulterior motives involved, and you cannot leave. You have this crazed 'Chainsaw-Massacre' dude called Scissor Man constantly pursuing you throughout the place, and you NEVER GET A WEAPON. He can pop out ANYWHERE (even randomly in rooms you've already been in). The best you can do is rapidly mash the 'panic button' to attempt to push him away. Other than that, run the fuck away or find something to hide in.
-Many different endings (some based on random things that you can't control, which adds to the fear factor)
-The only game I've ever known to successfully capture the feel of a good Slasher movie.
TRY IT!

Really? Thats too bad. You don't have to destroy all the roots, so you don't have to clear them all out if you don't want too. And on top of that, I destoyed them all, and it only took a couple hours.

I remember seeing this game on Game Center CX. It didn't really appeal to me much, but I believe I remember Arino having a difficult time with it.

I was told I need to destory 70% to reach the final level. i got like 20% destroyed then i just kept on dying... I heard the patch is coming from Eden games to fix some problems, so I'll pick it up again when that is released.
I'm hoping for Silent Hill 5 to bring the goods. I skipped part 4, but 1-3 scared me more than anything ever has. Try Condemned 1 and 2 too. Not your traditional survivor horror games, but still VERY scary.
thats like saying I'm don't get scared by tigers that live in my apartment that follow me around, rawr at me and look like theyre about to eat me, and then i continue to put raw meat on myself because im not scared.
just because I'm not scared doesn't make it not scary.
RE4 was a survival horror game, and had scary aspects to it. was it nearly as scary as RE 1, 2 or 3? or 0 for that matter? no, but its still a survival horror

I don't think Cursed mountain will turn out any better than obscure 2 to be honest. The developer is a budget developer and its a Wii only title. I don't want to say shovelware as I'm hoping its not but it sure sounds like it... |
Such a cleverly hedged knock on the Wii I almost let it pass. I mean, shovelware...seriously?
