HELP.

So basically, I always play my [60 Gig] PS3 on an old SDTV. It's hooked up to those generic Yellow, White & Red cables with 4:3 Ratio. It works fine. Sure, it's not HD, but I can deal with it.

But then my friend invited me over today, and he has a [60 Gig] PS3 as well. He has all the stuff. It's like a 47" 1080p connected to a 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound, HDMI cables, everything. Now, I have Rock Band. He does not. So I brought my Rock Band stuff over, along with my PS3. It has all the DLC, save data and stuff. It'd be nice. And man, on 1080p, it was beautiful. Quite a change from SD.

Anyway, so he unhooked his HDMI cable from his PS3, and put it in mine. A screen popped up. It didn't look too crucial. It was the generic PS3 background with some information talking about the cables and whatnot and the correct resolution. So we clicked "Yes" and "OK" a few times because we didn't care and wanted to play. BOOM. The PS3 resolution turned awesome into 1080p 16:9, I cried a bit, and we rocked out.

Now, I'm back in my house, and re-hooked everything back up. It's back with the AV Cables and stuff. But now, when I turn my PS3 on, it doesn't show up. The power and the controllers work perfectly, but nothing shows up on screen. Nor can you hear audio!

Anybody know what happened?! HELP PLEASE? I assumed the PS3 corrected its resolution when it senses the wires...

Hold the power button for 10- secs.

Hold the Reset button on your PS3 for about 15 Seconds, see if that helps

 So lets say your Ps3 is off. touch and hold the power button untill you hear 3 beeps. Let go.

This will reset your Ps3 to original settings. so if you changed any options youd need to change them back (For example your theme.)

lol, it was horrible, i had to get to the display settings and change it to 480 resolution and it was showing up!!

but having to access ps3 settings by watching just black is horrible.....

i can post the buttons you have to push if that helps and it will show up!

Funny story of mine... kind of embarrassing but. I just bought my Ps3. And I didn't even take it home. Straight to a friends house who had HDMi cables. Then I took it over to my other friends house who had Composite cables.... and it wouldnt work. Even though the day before I was playing on someone else's TV... so maybe I thought it was their TV I took it home and hooked it up through Component cables wouldn't work... I thought my system was broke so I took it to best buy and replaced it. It wasn't until my friend realized we used HDMi at his house that I found out what the problem was. Since I didn't even play it before i didn't realize there were different settings.
