Assuming it turns out to be really good (I did not say better than Oot).

I think it will ride the Wii Success a bit, and sell over 8 million. The Wii userbase will be without a doupt over 60 million when it is released, and it will have Mega Hype surrounding it. Also, there is not much competition on the Wii for a game like Zelda.

 Also... Although I hope this does not happen I think that Nintendo will do some things that make it appeal more to casuals (Hopefully this is just means Link can decorate his house... but it could also be a playable female charater... Maybe not Zelda, but someone new....)

I think this would bring things full circle, Brawl will be the best selling smash, MKWii will be the best selling MK, WiiSports will be the best selling game ever (also in Japan). The only major IP that would be the best selling is SMG (3d marios), but Mario 64 did come out a time when that genre (3d platformers) was at it peak. Also, If they made a new DK 3d Plat I think it would have trouble outselling DK64.

There is a Zelda in development for the Wii. Just because nintendo did pull a MS and show pics 3 years ahead of time does not mean it is not well into dev.

I agree with you..I think Zelda Wii has the potential to be a better game than OoT...wich is the best so far..

Personally i diddnt think that OoT was the best zelda (thats just me) and yes zelda wii will be the best selling itll get over ten million, i think.

 A pot shot at the quality of a game that we know nothing about other than it is in development. If thats not trolling I don't know what is.

 TP sales were stunted by the fact it was a last gen game being sold as a launch title. And its sales were quite good 4.7 + 1.6  mil.

The Wii userbase nearly matches the N64's lifetime sales now. So when the next Zelda does come out, it will have a more likely chance of surpassing OOT.

Twilight Princess will probably be at about 5m by that time. Mostly "hard/core" players bought TP, so when the Zelda Wii game drops, there will will be an entire casual audience you can convince into buying it, making passing 5m all but a guarantee.
