Infinity Ward made a very smart move. They broke away from their WWII roots and shot for the stars with a modern-day setting. After playing this game for about six hours on the campaign and twenty hours on multiplayer, I can confidently confirm this is one of THE best shooters of all time. If not one of the BEST games ever.

Why? It's definately not because of the (incredibly) brief campaign, which is awesome (while it lasts), but he multiplayer is groundbreaking on many fronts. But more on that later.

The game is so good it ruined my GTA4 experience, I bought GTA4 on launch day. Played for a few hours popped COD4 back in the ps3 never looked back its been lying there for months untouched, so I traded it in. loll

The multiplayer is amazing, what I love is there is hardly any lag, sometimes there may be lag but this happens only a few times unlike, rainbow six vegas what a bad game great single player mode awful online play.

COD4 is so good that I will probably be playing it when Call of Duty World at War comes out I don't trust Treyarch, COD3 was rubbish!

I found Call of Duty (the original) to be much better, at least for its time and it entertained me for years. CoD 4 is a very good game, among the best shooters ever made but certainly not the best there is imo.

COD 4 is the greatest shooter....in the series. This all opinion but I think there are a few shooters better (more to come) than COD 4.

Agree, its a great game, Infinity ward took the bar really high with Cod4 and it will be hard for other developers to match it. As for Call of duty world at war will not buy it will wait for Call of duty 6.
