Forums - Sony Discussion - Heads up to people interested in Naughty Dog/Drake's Fortune

I was channel surfing tonight and came across a show called GameHead on Spike TV.  Anyways I only caught the last 5 minutes of the show but they were doing an indepth interview with the creators of Drake's Fortune.  There were pictures and discussion about things that haven't been disclosed on the internet (at least I never came across what they were discussing).  Anyways they said they're going to post the episode tomorrow at gamehead.spiketv.com, so check it out :)

ps.  They also showed an exclusive trailer for Call of Duty 4 (well half the trailer), apparently the entire trailer will be available tomorrow on www.gametrailers.com.

Is anyone else sick of Call of Duty games? They churn one out every year...

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Call of Duty 4 looks to be a departure from the others. And I was getting sick of the series up until this one was announced.

Call of Duty 4 is going the way of Ghost Recon and Battlefield mixed together (doesn't sound too great to me, but the WW II stuff was getting really old).

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

The videos for the show that I mentioned in the first post are up now for anyone interested.

I haven't played the first COD, but I've played COD2 and it rocks and if I'm not mistaken, the makers of that one are making COD4. Also, I don't know how others felt about it, but I thought COD3 was pretty poor.

Anyway, COD4 takes place in modern times (check out the awesome new HD videos of it!) so it's taking the series in a different direction, at least when it comes to finally getting out of the WWII rut.

I'm actually playing COD3 right now along with Dead Rising and in my opinion the story in COD3 is horrible and boring and the gameplay is tired and old, the only good quality it has is the graphics. I'm also really tired of games in which there are obstacles like a 1/2 meter high fence that you can't jump high enough to get over so your character is boxed in but in a very jarring and unrealistic manner. Even the characters all feel the same except with annoying and stereotyped accents and I never ever cared about any of them. And imagine a game in which all the enemies are the exact same because that's what this game is like. I realize that it's based on WW2 so there's not supposed to be any aliens or anything like that but they could have at least had some enemies that stood out from one another (some good snipers or german commandos with much better AI than the others, fanatical SS troops, etc). If it wasn't for the achievements and the thought of maybe an amazing ending to make up for the rest of it I probably wouldn't still be playing it.

* I've only been playing the single player campaign though so maybe the multiplayer redeems it.

yeah Legend 11 COD 3 was very disapointed to me but COD4 looks very promising
