I don't know how hard it is to interpret that into "You thought of this yourself?"but apparently it is.

100? You thought himself?

i dont understand what you're trying to say

if you are questioning the number, its what independant groups that have gone into the area have said.

To be honest I didn't understand that line too first time I read it, untill you interpretated. The rest of his pieces I could make out general lines of what he was saying, or at least what his point was.

In you're previous post you mentioned the colonialism of Europe. It's true, we did butt in several foreign country's where we either "traded" resources or took slaves. The Netherlands for instance had Indonesia as a colony and when they wanted their independence, the Dutch send infantry there to keep the rebellion under control (1949).

Indonesia eventually gained their independence and you know who they can thank for? The US. Through the UN they proclaimed the Dutch where to leave all colony's if they so wish. They did this through diplomacy, and it worked! They should now try something similair in southern Russia.

@Ziss:

I find it funny how you call my opinion biased while I believe that the Dutch media has less to gain through propoganda then you're Russian media. Apart from the fact that a Dutch cameraman got killed. In Gori. By Russian mortar fire.

This may come as a shock to you but when Putin was re-elected, independent election overseers berated the government for their strict control on the media. I doubt with the current conflict at hand, the media would be less biased. Have you even tried to check around the internet on other sites, from any other country other then Russian ones?

Besides, what you know purely on the place where you live hardly matters anymore in the current IT-generation... Unless you are smack-dab in the middle of the fight zone.

The US is the only country to launch a Nuclear attack, you better have a leader who talks first, instead of attacking first.

seeing as the US was attacked by japan this comment doesnt reflect well on you.

Japan attacked USA first by bombing Pearl harbour back in December 1941. USA had no alternative to drop the nuclear bombs on Japan: Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Japanese surrendered immediately after the second nuclear bomb.

Well they could of invaded and had a bloodier more drawn out battle that likely would of killed more people... and split Japan north and south between Russia and the US....

Pretty much making the "Japanese Miracle" impossible... leaving japan in shambles no where near where it is today and close to a country like Vietnam in stature.

Which of course would mean no videogame systems.

The Nuclear attack actually worked out to be the better solution.

You can debate the second bomb... but the first one kinda saved Japan's ass in retrospect.  Had Russia gotten hold of the North... they would not be in a good situation... and probably have some sort of created enthinic clash, since it seems like every state seems to have an ethnic clash after the Russians moved in.  They love to pit races who used to get along together against each other for their own gain...

like the current situation actually where the Ossetians and Georgians used to be best friends, living together, marrying etc.  Then the Soviet Union rolls in and suddenly nobody likes each other afterwords.

I think it is the right time for the U.S. to go and kick some ass! We need to put European nations back in their place!

Would that include western Europe, Stan? Please think or elaborate before you post standard-idiot rethoric.

Also Rock-On: one of the reasons that Putin is so popular is that he's one of the few Russians that don't drink.

I read an opinionated letter this morning in a newspaper where someone indeed pointed out that the acknowledgement of Abchazië and S.Ossetia is also a statement against the US/EU's acknowledgement of the indepence of Kosovo. The writer even said that it's hypocrite for the EU/US to berate Russia for doing the same thing now within Georgia.

But, this is definatly not the same thing. When Kosovo demanded independence from Serbia, they did so through politics, backed by the UN and with no blood at all. Neither the US or EU stepped in with millitary force, and thus did not occupy large parts of Serbia to "aide" Kosovo. And again, there was no blood involved when Kosovo gained independence.

You know who else didn't drink?

Hitler.  (and me for that matter.  Not anymore anyway.  Outside of the occasional vodka/whisky at special occasions.

Also... for those people argueing Russia hasn't done anything wrong...

You guys do realize the only reason the Ossetians want independence in the first place is because of the very intentional race baiting the soviet union imposed on Georgia right?

That before Russia turned it's eye to georgia the Gerogians and South Ossetians lived together in peace and never had any race problems... right?

I mean... you don't think it's coincidence that everywhere the soviet union went race problems popped up out of nowhere, when there used to be none.

Korea, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan etc... America didn't start any of those conflicts themselves, they didn't create any of the warring factions or any of the problems between those factions like what the Russians did.

What the Russians did was much worse. They not only lit the fuse... they were the ones who made the bomb in the first place.

Russia does not need the west ... Russia can exist without the west and the more the U.S. ... and all threats from NATO for isolation or something similar ... This is nonsense! we are not afraid! not scared! that NATO can we do? NOTHING! can only do blah blah ...
About independence republics ... but may I remind you about Kosovo? not tired of living double standards?
and in general the U.S. foreign policy and west who sits on a leash from the U.S. and eat bowls of the U.S. sometimes surprised very much ... That America did in Vietnam? Korea? Iraq? Afghanistan? Yugoslavia? they attacked the U.S.? these countries who then threatened? No? then on what basis do you invaded these countries? killed tens of thousands of civilians? so the west and America, close their mouths! and look at themselves ... better than you?
and yet ... europe, winter will soon ... Think about it ... will be very cold .. very ...

With global warming, we won't need your oil, anyway.

@Kasz
I'm Not arguing that the Russians didn't do anything. I'm just arguing against the opposition of Russia's move. I really can't think of many that have been peaceful and haven't messed up in their foreign policies. It just so happens that Russia's and US's screw ups are a lot more recent and since people don't like history as much as others forget about previous events.

As for the atomic bomb. In war, I expect military personnel to die, as bad as that sounds. I expect someone in a navy ship to be gone. On the other hand I don't expect that kids in school will get obliterated by a nuclear bomb. I don't expect people going to the market to get torn apart.
