It sucks that people have to cheat  in games online.

BTW: Mario Kart requires no skill it is pure luck. Anyone can win a race in Mario Kart.

So true and some people are always lucky

Now if only this luck could rub off on me when it comes to gambling. I always tend to lose at poker and at the casino and I lose money at the races.

BTW: I never have much luck in Mario Kart I hate losing to friends and family. I switch the game off when I know I can not win. lol.

Cheats and hacks are used by people online because they know they would get pwned online if they played fairly.

he posted a thread on this shortly after the game came out. If I remember correctly, nintendo checks the connections, and if you connect/disconnect really fast, it makes your vehichle go faster, but they can detect that, so they ban you. However, oyv apealed, and they have a PC that re-analyzes the race results and determines if you really cheated.

I'm sure they can stop the infinite bullet bill too, just by checking item use history for a player, and then ban if they get too many. EDIT: or if they are in 1st and still getting them.

That statement is often repeated by people that just aren't good at Mario Kart and by no one else.  If you were good at the game you would realise that it involves much less luck than you think.

The powerups are so randomly generated and it helps if you know where all the short cuts on the course tracks.

I don't recall this sort of problem, just the one where some time trials end after 1 lap.
