Wii Fit features in stand-up comedy routine

On its release Wii Fit was in the news a lot, thanks to the fact that it weighs you at the beginning and could, potentially, label you "obese." Controversy reigned, and now US comedian Andrew Sleighter has worked the topic into his latest stand-up routine. Here he is rambling on about Wii Fit and videogames in general at Giggles Comedy club in Seattle.

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird.
Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

If laughing is the best medicine and marijuana makes you laugh

Is marijuana the best medicine?

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

“If any creator has not played Mario, then they’re probably not a good creator. That’s something I can say with 100 percent confidence. Mario is, for game creators, the development bible.

Have you ever wanted to walk on stage... and slap a comedian and yell "That's not funny!" I really feel that way about this guy...

He sucks...
And I can't believe some people are actually laughing.
His stereotypes doesn't even fit.

Though he does have a good line.
"Video games are supposed to about escapism
When I play a game, I don't want to be Andrew.
I'm tired of Andrew.
Andrew sucks."
I smiled there. ^_^

Guess what, I'm a clippers fan.

Thanks Stewie.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

he is not funny

dude that really sucked... like seriously I want to put into words how bad he sucks at comedy but I just cant find them... if he managed to come up with a new play on the 'wii' name then sure we can give him a cookie and a chuckle but that stuff isnt even comedy... it sounds like something you would hear from the anti wii camp of 13 year olds as they try and show off how cool they are by saying (uneducated) bad stuff about the wii experience

If at first you don't succeed, you fail

nerd comedy should be reserved for comedians like Patton Oswalt and Brain Posehn

you know.. i'd have enjoyed that more if i didn't know that the people in the audience are laughing in agreement about the chart thing.. otherwise, i can see it as a funny play on the stereotype.. the problem is.. most people consider that stereotype to be fact, and this doesn't help..

But at the end of the day who cares, he made some cheap laughs by making fun of other people in uneducated ways, that is the whole basis of poor comedians.. a good comedian doesn't need to mock another audience to get laughs, that's what big brothers are for

This made me watch the video, the first time I tried I stopped at "the Wii fit"...

The chart is offensive, but it's the same as a joke about wrestlers beating their wives or something of that ilk.
