^LOL.

Can anyone tell me how much the Wii has sold in USA? I just wanted to compare the population to consoles sold ratio.

US pop 304 million (source https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/us.html)

US Wiis (as of July) 10.9 million (source http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/14842.cfm)

Canada pop  33.2 million (source https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ca.html)

Canada Wiis 1.06 million (source see above)

So by my math that means  3.58% of the US owns Wiis and 3.19% of Canada owns Wiis.

Now the number of households are

US  109,902,090 (source US census bureau )

Canada 12,435,520 (source statscan )

Which means that  9.91% of US households and 8.5% of Canadian households own Wiis.

So both ways the US has greater penetration for the Wii, but being behind the US in Nintendo sales is nothing to be ashamed of. Getting any new product into 8.5% of households in under two years is crazy successful.

I would like to congratulate Canada.
