Forums - Sales - Wii - how high and how long?

Top of the charts, until the Wii 2 comes out.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I think WII will cool down after christmas but still should sell well

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

It will outsell PS2 for sure, after that everything can happen.

I dont see the wii overtaking the PS2. The PS2 had poor opposition. The 360 and the PS3 are already guarenteed sizeable chunks of this market.

And yes, i know the market is expanding

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

1. Since the Wii will be the unquestionable gen leader and have 100m+ sales it will have the 10yr+ lifespan, similar to its predecessors.

2. Nintendo could increase supply again, if needed to 3m+/month. Although, I think 2.5m will be highest they do as they will reach a balance after the holidays.

Personally I see anywhere from 120m to 150m LTD.

I'm not so sure that 2.4 million will be the peak of production. I think that Nintendo will realize that if they can sell 2.4 million Wiis in a month at $250, they can sell 3.0 million Wiis in a month at $200 and make up the lost profit in software and hardware sales.

I'd say 150 million is the minimum lifetime sales that the Wii will reach. 200 is quite possible.
