Halo and Gears of War are console-designed FPSes -- they're going to be a totally different experience on a PC, simply due to the fact that they have to drastically alter play mechanics to fit the mouse/keyboard control scheme. The games were meant to be played on consoles, and that's where the vast majority of the userbase will play them.

Secondly, that's two games out the the Xbox 360 library. I didn't buy this console to play Gears and Halo -- but I'm pleased that I can. They're great games, but they're not the only great games on the system. 

Besides, who wants to wait a year to play terrific games that they could have been playing right now? 

Show me a company that isn't.

Unless you actually think the Wii is accurately priced at $250 for the hardware you get. I'm not knocking the Wii, but the GC was selling for $99 with very similar hardware.

You could say the same about Sony, Apple, etc. etc. 

How good a pc does one need to run it ?

I want GTA and Mass Effect. Given the track records of both developers, they'll end up on PC eventually, but i want them soon :)

Ummm...GTA was a PC-only title for the first GTA game, and has always been on PC.

Anyway, as long as it's not Vista only, then I'd be happy. If it is, I'm going to be a bit pissed at Microsoft. However, though the story says it should be on XP, I really doubt that as Microsoft would want to use that to help with Vista. . . damn them.

What's wrong with Vista? I've tried it out at someone else's house before... it's a good improvement over XP.
