Forums - Nintendo - Finally got to sit some more with Okami...

I just finished my copy of Okami on Wii. I absolutely loved the game: compelling story, great controls (you really have to get used to them, about 10 hours into the game before it really clicks), art direction and huge world was amazing. It took me 52 hours to complete the game 99%. There is so much to do in this game it is crazy. If you love Zelda, then you will love this game, they have so much in common.

You only played 2 hours?...

I'd hate most of my favorite games if I only played them 2 hours.

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

I havent played it.

i really like the game. indeed it is like Zelda (but i think that's a huge compliment).
i played it on the ps2
dislikes: the voices (or lack of...some strange mumbling)
the responsiveness of the celestrial brush.
likes: the HUMOR...... hi big brested lady....wanna go out???? Issun is hilarious sometimes.
the sidequest, there is plenty to do or collect besided the main game.

but then again. everybody can have their own opinion on a game.
I think that halo or gta4 are overrated and should score a 8/10 or even a 7/10
others think those 2 games are the best games ever.
all a matter of taste.

Absolutely fantastic game, enjoyed every minute of it.

Motion control worked perfectly (anybody whizzing the remote around expecting Ammy to go beserker on enemies deserved the resulting annoyance), the pointer made the Celestral Brush a joy to use, and the visuals are unique and brilliant. Best game on Wii, even if it is a Port. And with Mario Galaxy in my collection, that isn't something I'd say lightly.

I played the PS2 version, but I felt it was a very slow game getting started, and I remember being very underwhelmed by the first two hours or so. I honestly recommend you give it a little more time to see if anything starts to click for you, and then put down if it's still not doing it for you.

I agree with everything you said. However most of those headaches disappear when u get further into the game. Instead of a 9/10 i would personally give it a 8/10 perhaps. That should perhaps give an indicator of over-rated-ness.
