Forums - Microsoft - Amazon leaks Kotor online.

You know I love online retailers they get so spunky, and often just cannot help but share. In this case they are taking orders for a game that has not even been officially unveiled. While it is only being listed for the PC this particular series has been a staple of the Xbox brand. The console seeing the previous two installments, and the title has most likely been in development for many years long before Electronic Arts acquired Bioware. So that brings to mind a pondering for me could Microsoft secured the console exclusivity for the 360 at some point in the past few years.

A interesting possibility of all the games on the horizon this one most definitely has the pedigree and the developer. So if the Bioware Microsoft friendship bore fruit what do you think would be the impact of such an announcement. Do you think this is the kind of game the console wars can turn on. After all look at what impact World of Warcraft has had on gaming. Before anyone says Amazon is not a reliable source. Yes I know they have all kinds of erroneous listings. However this thread is not about proof it is about a supposition. So take it in stride and just entertain the what if.

The are listing it for ratings dodece. All they have is a title.

I thought they already did announce they were working on this a while back....

I mean. I was working under the assumption it was coming anyway.

I coulda swore some developer admitted it like... way before E3... or at E3...

Actually the title has yet to be unveiled which is not the same as being confirmed. A fine hair but basically nothing is known of the title despite it being in development if the rumors are true since late 2005. What I find interesting about the Yahoo listing is that they probably didn't just decide to make one on their own based on a vague confirmation in an article. They probably got information on the title from Electronic Arts as a early notification of some sort.

Anyway it is the first sales listing for the title I have found, and Amazon is notorious for listing products sometimes before they are even announced however it is a good sign that we may see the title perhaps next year. Anyway that was not the major production. For me I thought it was an interesting question of what it would mean if it was console exclusive for the 360. Given that the franchise is almost synonymous with the brand. Remember Knights of the Old Republic was not to be found on the PS2.

Just an interesting thought it wouldn't have been much except now the title is being listed at a retailer now.

I didn't even know Bioware and MS had a freindship. I was always struck that Bioware is a PC company and produces games for PC architecture. So Xbox got KotOR because it's a PC. Is there something i'm missing.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Theres an article announcing that a KOTOR MMO is confirmed the most recent Game Informer, before that it was rumored and confirmed by unnamed sources months and months ago.

However, its a Bioware game, and Bioware is owned by EA, so it would never in a million years be exclusive to any one HD system, sorry thats the truth.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

I thought it was leaked a few months ago? And that it was PC exclusive like Dragon Age?

If it's a PC exclusive like Dragon Age, then expect it on a next (current) generation console near you.

But yeah, it has been leaked already.
