Forums - General - How many people here are ESL-Or know what that means...

I was an ESL for only 3 years kindergarden to second grade, luckily my sisters already went through it so I was speaking ok english by the time I started school so it was quick to pick up for me.

Oh I see now. Thanks Gnizmo and Vlad321.

I am OLE. OLE = Only Language English.
I have no need to learn to speak any other languages. I did Italian and Japanese in high school for a couple of years but had no need for them so I abandoned them.

I was forced to learn this language. : (

English is my second language. I´m brazilian so I learned Portuguese first.

I don't know if I fit fully the category, since I had in primary school more years of German than English, and is high school more years of French, but anyway English is, after spanish, the language I dominate the most, now it's like second nature, though sometimes I've got some problems understanding it if isn't pronounced clearly, but I've got zero problems understanding written English. Then I know French, German (though mostly forgotten), Latin (does that count?) and I'm trying to learn Japanese

Yep, but since everyone in my family knew English I learned quickly.

No one really speaks English at my house, aside from me.
So I had to learn once I started school.

I also was in ESOL when i first came over to the US...it was cool since we did all the easy crap and had a party like every friday. Even had a water gun war at the end of the year good times .

English is only my fifth language, learned it at school and by myself.
