I believe it was the last episode the kid I'm talking about killed the old Alchemist doing the right hand sucking thing and used the old alchemist's knowledge to keep Ennis alive, and then I believe they kissed.

my apologies, it's been a while since I watched the series and my memory is always awful when it comes to details.

No need, I'm usually the same way when it comes to details.
It was a fun brain tease trying to remember something I think I've forgotten...
I actually tried googling just to remember because I was drawing blanks.

i really liked Death Note (watched it online) and Bleach is good also, havent watched any others yet

Monster: similar metal dueling to what occurred in Death Note, should be right up your ally, same with Code Geass.

Cowboy Bebop: simply no excuse for you not to watch this.One of the best anime of all time. Period.

Fulmetal Alchemist: a surprisingly good shounen action series with a good story and very strong characterization.

If you list any more series you enjoyed i could give you other recommendations.

Watch anything by Gainax, Kyoto Animation, Bones, and Gonzo and avoid with the fear of god anything produced by sunrise.

Black Lagoon(doesnt have much of a story but is cool)
Hajime no Ippo(only if you like underdog sports stories)
you could also try Macross Frontier(If you've watched Macross before)

Gotta disagree.Monster and Death Note are pretty different as far as stories are concerned. Monster is meant exclusively for adults,and really isnt meant for everyone

Only if you can handle the bounce.

PS:  It's depressing to see lists from people who've probably never seen anything that wasn't shown on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim...
