?? Together they are a nice packet of features that definitely sell the 360. Apparently motion controls sell the Wii better. But that doesn't change the fact that MS provides the best online functionality.
LOL if you look at the games that are played online the 360 and the PS3 kill the Wii. Games like CoD4 or Halo3 are the games people play online. The Wii has a lead when it comes to games being played by casual/non-gamers and games that are played together before one TV. That's what sells the Wii. So the sales of the Wii give no feedback on its online functionality which is pretty crappy compared to the competition. But apparently online play is not the most important thing this gen.
You really should stop taking what you take. Care to give some examples? Just because something is bought more often doesn't mean it is more advanced.
Oh come on care for some further nit-picking? The 3D graphics API is the biggest part of DirectX so the analogy is pretty good. The sound API and the other crap in DirectX is pretty meaningless, but if you want you can replace DirectX with Direct3D in what I said. Would be just as valid a statement.
We are in a gaming forum. An area where Microsoft effectively killed the competition. It is true that the CAD market is using OpenGL for the visualization.
The 360 uses DirectX, The PS3 uses PSGL which is a Sony proprietary API which builds on OpenGL/ES (for embedded systems) and has lots of proprietary additions. And the Wii uses an API that is very proprietary but syntax is similar to OpenGL.
