Forums - Microsoft - If the rumor about the $199 360 with a motion controller is indeed true...

...how do you expect things to unfold for MS?

If you haven't heard about this rumor, here it is:

This would basically be MS' attempt at capturing some of teh Wii's audience.....and apparently it'd come with a lot minigames, made by Rare, to take advantage of the "Xmote"...if all of this turns out to be true, do you think it could backfire?....could MS really get a portion of the Wii's audience?...are they in for disappointment?

It will not be a disapointment.. but it won't be a ground brakingly must have game.

Think of this as an accessory, and not something that will replace regularly controlled games.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

I totally agree, and it will ofcours take some of the Wii audience although it won't be as much as a little dent. The public idea about the consoles is already formed and won't change that easily.

Well prices do change opinion and this plus the $199 thing will sway a lot of Christmas shopping parents. Wii would have to reduce to maybe $150 to counter--they can't do that.

I will laugh.

LBP will be huge.

I doubt its true. They aren't going to price drop to the cheapest ever, AND introduce a new controller with it. They may introduce a motion controller with one of the more expensive packages, but I doubt with this one. I could be wrong though.

I believe something like that will happen. They would be stupid to let Nintendo have the motion control crown for long.

- PS3 and 360 have much more powerful hardware and could most likely play all Wii games with a very very short porting period
-360 will soon be cheaper than a Wii
- Ps3 and 360 have much better media and online capabilities

, so if they can get the Waggle and developers start to make their games available for Wii and 360 for example the case for buying a Wii suddenly becomes really thin. Essentially Nintendo first party titles thin.

What will come out of this? Nintendo's fan base will continue to grow and people like myself will wonder why the fuck the 360 needs a motion controller two years after the competition(s) already did it.

The 360 will most likely never be cheaper than the Wii dude. The Wii is the only console that hasn't faced a price cut..if the 360 drops, the Wii drops more. They can afford a price cut much more than 360 or PS3.

This is simply their last chance to finish second this generation ...

It will be hard even at 200$ cause the arcade is a noname console compared to Wii.
