Also, while I don't want to offend anyone and respect your opinions, you can't call Transformers a masterpiece. If I had to put in into perspective, it'd rank top five of worst movies ever. There's no single way in which it's comparable to real masterpiece movies like Pulp Fiction (generallt agreed to be one of the best films ever made).

While I would normally agree with you, Michael Bay has directed seven feature films.

Considering that Transformers probably made me want to shove ice picks in my eyes the least out of all seven, it can't possibly be a "worst five" film.

...

Wait, why the fuck have I seen all seven Michael Bay feature films? Sad. I need a drink.

Even I can't say that.  Wow, I think you might want to try a little stiffer drink, like something with strychnine.

I give that post a 9.1.

I was on IMDB when the realization that I had wasted roughly 14 hours of my life watching the entire Michael Bay catalog hit me like a kidney stone the size of a golf ball.

This is truly a sad day in the history of Rocketpig.

At least I can say I only paid to watch Transformers. It's a small comfort, but a comfort nonetheless.

Not exactly "masterpiece" but I liked:
- Transformers G1 movie (I watched it recently for the first time as I wasn't born when it was originally released, I never knew Optimus died). That movie was a transformer fans wet dream (sans prime dying) and it had excellent animation to boot

- Green Mile

- Godfather Part II

- Spiderman 2: My favourite superhero movie. Also, it was an awesome sequel, which is rare (cough matrix cough)

Just some more i particularly enjoy....

Blade, Star Trek 2, The Matrix, Aliens, Return of the King, The Rock, Best Laid Plans, Fight Club, The Usual Suspects, The Sixth Sense.....

and....Clueless

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

You kiddin' right?! Transformers and Spiderman?!... This is about masterpieces, not about biggest holywood blockbusters... Transformers is the biggest piece of nonsence there is... I don't know how old you are but i've you like a game based on the amount of action instead of eehrm, all other aspects you should really reconsider what you think is a good movie...

And don't even get me started on Spiderman

THE NETHERLANDS

- The Third Man
- Oh Brother Where Art Thou
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
- Toy Story

All masterpieces but mainly in one element of film making.

-The cinematography in The Third Man is spectacular, the work on shadows, reflections and echoes is fantastic.

-The way this film subtly refers to Homer's Odysey works so well, its like a modern but old version of the tale, while sliding in the occasional trippy but great song.

- Howl's Moving Castle is spectacular to watch, all of the frames are hand drawn by Studio Ghibli and could appear in an art gallery by themselves.

- The way in which live action film is combined with animation is mind boggling and to think this was made over 25 years ago enhances the wonder about this film.

- Toy Story, an absolute classic, anyone who says this is a film for kids and cant be good for that reason doesnt know jack about films. I rate this film on so many levels.
