How did a thread that had nothing to do with Capcom turn into Capcom/Dead Rising whining and bashing?

It's not shovelware either. That term means to just throw stuff together. You can't judge whether a game is thrown together from a middle build, steven787. In fact, if the game looks like that from the middle build, that obviously means they have more work to do.

Blame trestes. I was just calling him on basing that on an early build of the game. We don't know how many people are actually working on it, and we don't know how far it is along right now (what I heard was that the E3 build was 40%, which was of course a while ago).

As I said long before, the companies that are trying their best on the Wii are actually the smallest ones. Codemasters according to the previews has done a wonderful job so far. I was just comparing this to DR which is a Capcom game, and by this I'm trying to get people to realize that there are no limitations rather than budget or priority when developing a game.

If Codemasters, THQ, High Voltage, Platinum Games can do it, companies like Ubisoft and Capcom should too.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

After reading that I do not even know what to expect.

easy question trestres entered the thread

Lol, the victim could have been Ubisoft but I'm tired of bashing them. I already stated my reasons. This news just reinforces my thoughts about the bigger companies compared to the smaller ones, hell even more now after watching the first footage of Cursed Mountain.

But to get this OT again, it's not just the visuals but the concept of this game that interested the guys who made the preview.

So it looks like all the Wii can get from Capcom are late remakes :/

fixed. But that won't change the fact that we're getting the game waaaaaay late

I know, but there's a very thin line between a port and a remake. For example RE4 was a port in every aspect but gameplay.

And I'm just going by the guy at Capcom's forums, he was the one talking about ports. In my opinion DR is a port, but seeing the limitations of the Wii no HD game on the Wii could be a port anymore, all would be remakes. To exemplify, Lost Planets was a late port on the PS3, and Dead Rising on the Wii is the same game as the original, but on another platform.

No, the line is not thin. When a game is put on another system in almost exactly the same condition, it's a port, like RE4 Wii Edition. If there are radical changes, to take advantage of what the system has, it's a remake, like RE1 on the Gamecube.

Now downgraded ports are not called remakes, but there are so many changes, they might as well be remakes, like RE4 on the PS2, where the team for that version admitted they had to redraw all the graphics to fit on the PS2. The same is happening with Dead Rising.
