Forums - Gaming - Poll: So who will buy a PS3 at the new pricepoint?

I'll wait as long as it takes for the console to hit $200 before I even consider it, no matter how many years it takes.

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

I wasn't willing to pay $499 for the 20GB PS3 why would I be willing to pay it for the 60GB model?

Its really not a price drop. They just moved the system to the other price point.
Now if I could find a 20GB for $399.... no I still wouldn't buy it. I'm not going to get a PS3 until it comes down to $299. $300 is the max I will pay for a system.

Currently playing:
Wii: MySims | Xbox360: Halo3 / Pac-Man C.E | DS: Scurge | PSP: Ghost in the Shell

Since I'm kinda new to this site....is it true there are more Nintendo fans here than on most other gaming sites?

not until it's below the $300 mark.

From the looks of it, a $100 drop isn't going to affect sales much, if even people on this site (all gamers) aren't budging.

There aren't more Nintendo fans here, just less Sony and MS fans. Sony and MS fans don't particularaly care for open forums like this, they like specialized forums typically dealing specifically with their product of choice, i.e. a Sony exclusive forum or a MS exclusive forum.

All you have to do is look at the top ten ranked games on the front page (which goes against any other legitimate top 10 list on the web) to tell that this is one of the most Nintendo-biased forums you will come across.

The 5 free BR movies and the $100 price drop make the PS3 a better deal than the 360, IMO.  The game situation is drastically improving, and the problem will be completely gone by the end of the holidays.  Two fantastic exclusives come out as soon as next month (Lair and Warhawk) with one having already come out this month (Ninja Gaiden Sigma).

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. P.S. Don't ever listen to GBallZack. Even the Nintendo fans will agree that he is a troll.

nope, not get it now, not get it ever.
simply because my wii360 is basically hd gaming and fun combined. no room for a 3rd.

life isn't complicated, just face it simple.

Nope. There just aren't a whole lot of games for the system and I don't have an HDTV, so the added value of the blu-ray player isn't even there.

Perhaps If the price drops down to around $350 and there are more games, then I'll start thinking about it more seriously. Sly Copper 4 is definitely a game I would like to play. Although, it would be nice if it was on the Wii. ;)
