Thats pretty good for the PS3 and 360....Very good actually. The 360 saw a sub-10% drop (Trusty Bell still having an effect?), PS3 is way up, and the Wii is up a bit.

Overall, really, really good for everyone.

I think you mean PS3 11k is good relatively speaking.  Cause really 11k (~around 10k) Isn't good for a system that has launched only 8 months before!

Xbox 360 going steadily at 3k in Japan... Really funny to see Microsoft fail in their attempts to gain that market!

And Wii: Good job! Keep it up!

Well 12K for the PS3 (11900 is way closer to 12k that to 10K ) is a good number ,maybe the succesive games released (Ninja Gaiden,Call of Duty 3 ,Folksouls ,Rainbow Six Vegas ,My Summer Holiday 3 yesterday ) are finally starting to make the PS3 look a bit better in front of japanese eyes .

Ummm....Microsoft really never tried to "gain" the Japanese market. They just merely tried to improve on it, and they've done exactly that, whereas the PS3 had the market, and totally lost it.

11k is good since it has been at 8k before.

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

I meant the last couple of weeks... In which the PS3 was oftenly below 10k a week... So i think it is fair to say that PS3 is hovering around the ~10k.

And 10k-12k... What's the difference when you're talking about millions of sales overal.
