Guess you have to fight fire with fire, eh? Anyway, I think it looks interesting.I appreciate that EA is trying to prove that they don't suck anymore. +1 for EA.

This EA and EA don't do exclusive deals. Expect to see that game on all platform in North America at least in time for the holiday. Anyway, if the game gets delayed on 360, I won't complain as I will just play it later. There's enough good stuff coming on 360 this winter for me to wait until spring for this game.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
its being develop first for the ps3.
and the textures are bigger on the ps3.
but i dont til it will get timed for long.
Good move if true, game looks fresh and unique, hope it plays good. EA has been gaining (slowly) some respect from me with rockband, mirriors edge, and dead space, i dare say they are a good game developer.

That's a very plausible scenario, especially considering this came from a presumably German site. It kinda makes sense to target one region for (timed) exclusivity rather than pay extra money for the whole world, kinda like the way Square targeted FFXIII to be PS3 exclusive in Japan and multi-platform in the US and Europe. And I believe this game would appeal more to Europeans, anyway, so that would be a good market to get exclusivity, timed or otherwise.
this article even has more news:
Reeves erklärte die neue Abwärtskompatibilität zu PS2-Singstar-Titeln genauer. Sie werde mittels einer Software-Emulation realisiert, die in einem kommenden Firmware-Update enthalten sei. Mit diesem ließen sich alle PS2-Singstar-Folgen direkt auf der PS3 abspielen. Man benötige kein PS3-Singstar. "Wir beobachten, bei welchen Titeln sich dies noch lohnen wird, und werden in Zukunft möglicherweise weitere PS2-Spiele auf der PS3 per Emulation zum Laufen bringen." Dies sei jedoch ein technisch sehr aufwendiger Prozess, weil die nötigen PS2-Chips den aktuellen PS3-Modellen fehlen.
main points of this text:
- Reeves says the compatibility to PS2 Singstars will be realized through software emulation (playable on non-b.c. PS3s)
- he says that they will possibly add software emulation for more titles (if it's worth it from their perspective)
btw the part in the OP says this:
- Reeves claims Mirror's Edge will release "far earlier" for PS3 (this year, other versions next year)
- the developer DICE doesn't have information about that and are working to release all versions at the same time by the end of the year
- but they acknowledge, that contracts may have been signed on top-level, that they haven't been informed about yet
I have hard time believing this Sony does not seem to have the balls to do such thing. If this news would have been about 360 time exclusive it would have been different.
I don't know, it might be a european exclusivity like Deviation said, but in the article there is no indication whether or not Reeves is talking about a particular region.

They did it for UT3 and Haze last year.
