Forums - Sony - Anyone else underwhelmed by Force Unleashed demo?

I was dead set on getting this game not too long ago.  The only thing I was debating was whether to get the PS3 version for the graphics or the Wii version for the controls.  Now that I've played the PS3 demo, this game is a rental at best.  It was somewhat fun and I'm sure that it will get more exciting as the game progresses, but aside from slapping a Star Wars coat of paint on top of God of War, this game is nothing special IMO.

I do belive u cant even use the force by moving ur hand in the wii version. I'm downloading the demo now, taking forever! I liked this game at first but by looking at videos it doesn't look so good. Starwars battlefront all the way!

i'll get back to you, downloading now

I enjoyed it. The controls took some getting used to. I'm sure it will ramp up as the game gets along, and I did enjoy smashing that bad boy at the end (don't want to spoil it for those who haven't played it yet), but I wasn't really expecting too much when I went in, so I was satisfied with the demo.

Just kiss the tip.

I think you do Force Push with a Nunchuck gesture, but I'm pretty sure I read that when you grab something you manipulate it with the analog stick.

I was underwhelmed by the janky controls, camera and targeting. All the same, I had fun abusing force powers and this game is hitting all the right fanboy buttons for me. Despite it's flaws, I'll be picking it up.

Once you get used to the controls the game starts coming together rather nicely. The biggest issue I have is that the stage they put you in is rather bad for a demo. Also you only have 3 force powers, and there are alot more to gain.

Really for me the demo solidfied my purchase thoughts on the game for a HD system (PS3 personally), especially since the motion controls for the Wii arent 1:1 and a good portion of the force powers dont utilize the controls. Which is sad, but oh well.

The biggest suggestion I have for you is a second play through, once you get the controls down, you start combining powers, throwing the sabre around and shocking guys and pushing them into other dudes.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

This space Reserved for the Nuggets of Wisdom dropped by Bladeforce:

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

Targeting and camera were a little annoying. I just ended up button mashing most of the time. It's not terrible though but it's not great which is what I pretty much expected based on the vids. The apprentices eyes are really weird. I might not cancel my pre-order.

I had a real good time with it myself.
