Created in response to the Nintendo and MS merger thread.

Sony + MS merger would be a more likely scenario. When MS pulls out of the console race they will be selling game franchises to Sony. I believe there will be no new Xbox.
Halo 4 and Gears of War 3 on PS4.

Discuss people what would this do if MS the software king joined forces with Sony the console gaming/ electronics giant.

From my understanding, the xbox division was always planned for 3 generations. So ask me 3 years into next gen.

it would be the end of ninty sony will provide the brand name and microsoft will provide all the money. they will just buy up all the devs and have everything go the their console exclusively.

sony does a hostile takeover on MS game division. now i like the sound of that a lot better, then a merger. a merger sounds like they both gave up a hostile takeover makes sony sound dominant

NO. , Ms would be stupid to pull out after making huge investments in japan. Sony, MS and nintendo will all make another console.

as long as MS doesn't make the OS or put the hardware together it could be a winner

If this happens, I'll want to kill myself. I can't stand Microsoft, I only have a 360 because my friends insisted on buying an inferior machine.

Funny how things work out..now all of them are looking into buying PS3's..hmm.

Chances of that ended in 1994 when Nintendo did not want to use CD based console and stuck with the limited space cartridge for N64.

Sony launched Psone back in December 1994.

It has been Sony Vs Nintendo in console wars for almost 14 years.

This is the most unlikely scenario out of the three possibilities.
