The PS3 has beaten the 360 each and every week since last september.I dont see how this week would be different.

Clearly you didn't see the last two weeks.  Hell, 360 even outsold PS3 in Japan last week.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

umm how did ps3 beat 360 by 20k this week? new release?
usually it sits at 10k/week.

360 will win because of the 60G model and all the price cut
360 is so cheap cheap

The PS3 will CRUSH this 360 machine into dust!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

1. This post is pure flame bait, as it's quite obvious that the 360 will get beaten this week. Anyone who's been reading any gaming news knows that. I'd assume if you're posting here that you do read gaming news, at least here and there.

2. The 360 is "back to normal" in Japan because you can't find a 360 anywhere in Japan at the moment. They're all sold out. Tales of Vesperia sold hardware in Japan, plain and simple. I know PS3 fanboys will say MS is making this up, but I assure you they're not. It's just simply a case of there not being a lot of 360s on store shelves in Japan. When there are more 360s in the pipeline, there will be more hardware sales, though MS should have accounted for this a little bit before the release of ToV.

3. There is a significant price cut coming on September 7th for all three models of 360. As of two days ago, a lot of fanboys were chalking this up to rumor. I think we can all agree now that this is NOT a rumor, and it's been reported on more than just the gaming websites. I saw it in the "regular" news the other day as well. People know about this. It will effect sales this fall, and it will very likely allow the 360 to hold its own for the holiday season. Most financial analysts believe we're in a recession right now. You can believe that if you want, or you can make up conspiracy theories about it, but Ma and Pa Console Buyer (people buying consoles as gifts in the coming months) are really scared about the financial state in the US right now, and if they still buy a console at all, they are more likely to choose the less expensive one.

4. To Blue Strife and all the other people claiming that the PS3 has been outselling the PS3 since last September, I don't know how you could be a member of this site and still have your facts so completely wrong. Do you actually LOOK at the sales numbers on VG Chartz when you log on, or do you just go straight to the forums and troll? I'm not saying the 360 has won every month either, but it has won some months in that time period. The PS3 has hardly reigned supreme in that time period.

5. I have never seen fanboyism quite like what I see with the PS3. The PS3 is in third place. The months it does outsell the 360, it's not by enough where they would pass it up in sales anytime soon. At the current rate, it will take YEARS for the PS3 to pass the 360. Yet Sony fanboys act like their console of choice has already dominated the world. Yes, Sony has things in the pipeline to try to improve that situation. Do you honestly think that Microsoft doesn't? I think it's possible that the PS3 could pass up the 360 at some point. But the more time that goes by, I am starting to think it's almost as possible for the 360 to hold its own. We make predictions as to when the PS3 will pass the 360. The time comes and goes and it doesn't happen. Then we revise our predictions. Then it doesn't happen again. It's a vicious cycle, isn't it?

Sony has a bit of a problem here. The 360 is now making money per unit sold for Microsoft. The new chipset revision will make that even more so, allowing the price drop and the price drops will keep coming as the guts of the machine keep getting streamlined. Sony is still selling their machine at below cost which is why the keep reiterating that they will NOT be announcing a price drop this year. No matter how much a company wants their product out in the marketplace, they can't do it at a loss forever.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Sony will do a price drop after all. Maybe they will take over the charts next year. They have a great console on the market in the PS3, they have an established brand name, and they have more experience in the console market than MS does. But if they do take over in sales numbers at the number two spot, they're not going to destroy the Xbox 360. And if the Xbox 360 retains second place status, it's not going to destroy the PS3. They've both sold enough units (and continue to sell enough units) where it doesn't really matter anymore. They will both get their piece of the pie. How big of a piece depends on how the respective companies handle things, and that's something that no fanboy can control. Only CEOs and shareholders can control that. And they don't care about you or your internet console war. They care about making money.
