 Just because its a 100 dollar price cut doesnt mean the ps3 will suddenly dominate the console market.  If they want to step on the grounds of both the wii and 360 they still have a mountain to climb.

There's only one sure-fire megaton hit in September, and it's coming to the 360. And the momentum building from September won't stop, so the PS3 HAS to close the gap sooner rather than later.

I wonder how many people who weren't going to buy the console at $600 will be happy to pay $500? It's definitely a step in the right direction but I think Sony still has a long way to go to start moving these things...

I don't. The PS3 has been averaging about 50,000 a week for the last month, trending downward. This will increase sales, but to reach 5 million by September, it would have to sell 175,00 a week. A 17% price drop in one of three major regions is not going to increase worldwide sales by 3.5x.

Do you mean GTAIV and "and it's coming to the 360 as well" or do you think Halo3 will outdo GTAIV?

Now that I think about it... it probably will, R* should've never wasted their time putting this game on the 360, it sure as hell would've(and still will, just not as many) moved PS3s.
