So, if they actually put effort on the game, it means is not shovelware anymore?

Too bad I hate dogs, therefore my boycott on Ubisoft continues ^_^

Shovelware means no effort. It's just falsely used by some to describe casual games those people don't like.

It was originally used to describe software thrown on to a CD-ROM for no purpose other than to fill up the 650-700 MB. Since it was already finished, that meant it could just thrown on a disc like dirt from a shovel.

When referring to original software, the proper meaning is to just slap it together, so that it looks as though the development team coded it in their sleep. Of course that's relative. A garage developer has far fewer resources than Ubisoft.

So if a game on the Wii looks like an N64 game, and it's not a deliberate style choice (or of course part of the Virtual Console), that means the developers just didn't even bother with the system at all. Take Cruisin', which was just an already completed arcade game, and still far below what the Wii could do.

So if Dogz actually starts to use the system, it's not shovelware, no matter how much some may insist. Same with some other casual games.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
