LOL. Unrelated, I saw a 9 year old Japenese kid on Conan playing the shit out of a guitar.

Yeah, I saw that. The little kid was pretty damn good. He deserves more money that this 16 year old fool will ever attempt at making.

Why is this kid a fool?  Am I missing something?

This is why the equivalency level in this country has gone down. Thank you George Bush....you're no dumber than the people you're screwing over.

Wow, this little brat told his parents that school was a waste of time.....he's gonna fail at life. He better go back to school.

Just like Bill Gates failed at life?

No one should be an equal.  The world would be dull and boring if it was like that.

For example, I am dreaming of being either a game design or an author when I grow up

Start writing books and designing games . ASAP.

M != restricted btw :)

Back on topic: parents let their kids achieve their dreams for a very good reason. Having dreams increases the chances of being successful in life when they grow up.

I think the guy would get more use (and income over the long term) learning a real guitar. Remember not all dreams are a good idea, look at Hilter.

Umm, I do believe Hitler's dream probably had to do with him being an artist, so your example is highly contradictory to your stance. I mean, the guy wanted to be an artist, went to art school, and got thrown out because he wasn't any good. Had he been homeschooled and allowed to chase his dream then maybe he'd have developed some talent and gone on to be an artist rather than a leader that allowed (and wanted) a holocaust to happen.

My social studies teacher never taught my class that.  Guess we learn something new everyday

Yeah American schools don't teach very much.  Hint the boy's response = a waste of time.

Considering most American adults don't even know the Bill of Rights I don't see why any of us had/have to waste our lives in that glorified prison system.

and btw Hitler wasn't kicked out of art school, he was denied admission.  He later did pursue art as a proffesion doing political slander.. the rest is history.

This is why the gaming industry gets a bad rep.

I don't support Guitar Hero in the least, nor Rockband. Its sad that a bunch of wannabes are being paid for this shit. I leave games like this for dorks and wannabes. I wouldn't shell out money for something like that when I could buy a beautiful real guitar.

It's not even that. It's the point that the kid is throwing away his education just because he won $1000 worth of prizes, I mean serisouly? 1 grand? That's hardly even a fraction of my monthly mortgage + bills. Whoever drops out of school just to play videogames are fools, he also lives in the same city as me, I guess this is another bad seed from raleigh NC.

Oh yea, dropping out of high school is sooo like dropping out of Harvard.

I give that post a 9.2.

When I use the term equivalency I mean the tests Achievement tests. They are getting curved and dumbed down so American students can pass. As you well know America is a nation where it's extremely hard to be equal. It's an individualist nation, so that would be extremely stupid. I'm talking about equivalency bar set in the world as far as tests. Thats what these guys want, a nation riddled with dumbasses.

Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard and he had a Highschool diploma. I'll say it again...he dropped out...wasn't kicked out...but DROPPED OUT OF HARVARD. He has since recieved an honorary degree from them since he excelled to greatness from their school and that was his alma mater. Gates family was also wealthy when he was young, so he had no problem with money and connections. This kids some sad ass. Gates was knowledgable in electronics since he was in prepratory school. What kind of an example is that!?
