what? you have the best ps3 version. Swap out your old one and transfer it all onto a 250gb or larger drive.

Nothing prevents you to upgrade the HDD and it won't cost you an arm and a leg to do it like for the 360........

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Isn't this a bad move? It keeps the PS3 at high price and people who would have bought one at a high price would have already. I am thinking most hardcore or on the fence about buying a PS3 would have bought the awesome MGS4 bundle so what demographic is this going for? Surely those same hardcore would know how to upgrade their hardrive so again all it does is keep the PS3 at a high price for a very few who will buy it.

Only way this truly makes sense is if all future games will require installs though the 80 gig should be enough to keeo 3-4 games at a time installed while having other stuff like music. I really think they should have stayed at $400 as the standard and work from there. Just seems like a pointless sku at the moment.

Guess I can't wait to see how this thing sells.

including uncharted is dumb. wtf? the game is a year old. what the hell is that going to do?

i guess to help the uncharted sales? it does have trophies at least. but why dont they throw that game out in the bucket and price it at 450.

My 20 gig 360 is no longer top of the line amongst Xbox 360's.

My 80 gig Ps3 is no longer top of the line amongst Ps3's.

At least my Gamecube 1.5 is still the best version on the market!

The new 160gb ps3 is gimped. I think it even has only 2 usb ports...yours is better than that!

lol o well at least i could play perfect dark zero and Mobile Suit Gundam: CROSSFIRE
lol

Umm, the 60 GB PS3 is still pretty much the best one.  Just throw a 320 GB HDD in there.

It also seems like they are doing this to help cut losses.  It definitely doesn't cost Sony $100 more for a 160 GB hard drive, Uncharted, and Pain.  The games are pretty much only potential revenue, and the difference between the price of an 80/160 GB HDD isn't very large.

So they removed important functionality, traded the old pack-in game for a new one, and added some useless hard drive space, and people call it a good deal?

No thanks.

This is a really strategic move on Sony's part. Why?

Uncharted is a great game, that shows off what the PS3 can do graphically and gameplay wise. Although at $30 retail, consumers LOVE bundles, they think they are getting something for free regardless of the price. It's Marketing 101.

Pain is a quality PSN game that will make the owner of the PS3 to visit the PSN and register online. After playing Pain, the customer will then see that PSN has very good quality offerings at a low price, and continue to buy from there.

160GB, lots of HDD space it's the best on the market, making the PS3 seem, in the consumer's eye, to be the best.

P.S. Why do most of you think $499 is a lot of money? It's like a half of a week worth of work for adults, and a week for students. If you adjust PS2 prices and SNES prices over the years and compare to PS3's price, they are basically the same price. How do people not see that?

Please tell me where a student can make $500 a week part-time, because I'd really like to know. Either that, or you're just making stuff up as you go along. Hmm...

Also, anyone making comparisons like the above involving inflation doesn't understand economics at all.
