Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3 Look the same?

i read this blog and i believe its sort of true....i think unreal looks 10x better though, the art style is similar yes.... but unreal is definatley better looking. especially the face models. plus gears was kinda a tech demo for the unreal engine, now they got it down..... unreal will look really good and it will be a good game unlike gears...what do u guys think??

Yeah, they look similar but mostly because they use the same engine without many modifications.

But I agree with you, Unreal looks really cool and its a must buy for me.

i think the character design is better in gears. the maps are bigger and better in UT.

Unreal Tournament 3 is a much faster paced game than Gears of War, so if they managed to make it look just as good (on 360) or slightly better then it's a major achievement.

Unreal Tournament looks a lot better than Gears. When it comes out, it will be the new graphical bar to reach on the 360.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I've never been particularly fond of Epic's character models: they're cartoonishly big and bulky, like veiny tree trunks with limbs. I think that tradition is upheld in UT3. I definitely prefer Valve's character models and their amazing still-best-in-gaming facial animation system.

However, the game play in UT3 should be top notch. They make excellent skill-oriented FPS, and I am very excited to pick this up for my PC.

Yeah I completely agree.  I can't wait for UT3.
