Forums - Microsoft - Tales of Vesperia - Mega Discussion Thread

I've just come across this article in french :
http://www.jeuxpo.com/afficher_news-14303-usa__tales_of_vesperia_en_dif.html

" Le magazine EDGE annonce que le jeu de rôles Tales of Vesperia (sorti le 26 Août dernier) ne s'est vendu qu'à 33.000 unités lors du mois d'Août dernier, se classant en 58ème position du classement du NPD Group."

My (rough) translation :
According to EDGE, ToV sold 33,000 units in the last august NPD charts and ranked at #58.

16K week two. So...what the ****?

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

IMO, this may be VGC re-adjusting the numbers lower, to compensate for the fact they were/are off by 20k.

But you see, that really doesn't help usget a scope of Vesperia's possible legs if thats true. If its opening week really was only a pathetic 33k, then wouldn't that mean that (with VGChartz final numbers being correct) that vesperia actually did BETTER in its second week then in its first?

If so, then those are wierd freakin' legs. How is the stock issue right now? My gamestop seems to have some in.

Hmm, lets see; if NPD(or whatever it was) numbers are true, then it did 33K first week, 37K second week, then(Going to VGChartz for this one) 7K the third week?

Would someone kindly tell me WTF is going on?

I am currently up to Nor Harbor and I must say, this is easily my favorite JRPG this gen. I love the art style, I actually am loving the battle system (which is strange because I used to never care for the Tales battle system).

Estellise is very funny with her stupid comments, especially when you finish a battle and she sets up Rita for a high-five, lol.

This is actually the first time I am playing a JRPG this gen and actually having genuine fun. It is sad that this game hasn't gotten better sales. It truly deserves it and I can not wait to get out of work to continue with it.

And just think, at Nor Harbor, your maybe 15% of the way done. It gets much better.

Not to mention I have over 8 hours logged in already. I am on pace to spend at least 50-60 hours on this game because I know there has to be some sidequests eventually right?.

Seriously though, what an excellent game.

What level should I be at this time though? My party (Yuri, Estellise, Karol, Rita) are all level 20. Sometimes I feel a bit over-powered, except for that boss I just finished. He kicked my ass the first time, which was the first time I died.

Im at level 40, and the bosses are hard while the normal enemies are piss-easy =/
I've been playing this game for like 90 minutes a week... need to get some momentum.

Do you spend time just running around chaining some enemies together? I do that while running around the overworld, helps me level up pretty quick.
