Forums - Sales - ps3/360 sales

These two systems are not only video games, they are multimedia systems.

The ps3 is a computer/ blueray, dvd player/video game system, and much more. So not all the sales will be due to the fact that people will want to play games. The ps3 is used for a computer and a blueray player and thats about 1/3 to 1/2 of the sales or maybe even more. When the ps3 came out it was like a cheaper blue ray player which many people bought for the blue ray.

The 360 was like just an xbox with hd written all over it with a bigger hard drive (which is a good thing). the old xbox needed add ons to play dvds now an add on to play hd dvd (too bad hd dvd is dead). But 360 sales has gone up because for some people with the ring of death bought a new 360. And many people say who bought like 2-5 360 and that's per person. So if every person still had their first 360, about 2 million sales or even more will of the total amount of 360's sold.

Sony and Microsoft were smart in doing so to get more cash, but fail to make companies sell more games due to the fact that the consoles aren't alot. And even if not all those consoles sold belong to people who play games.
